When my sister was born (or very young) she was gifted a quilted banner with buttons. My parents would save buttons for her for her display, and she amassed a pretty big collection. The banner was a cornflower blue ditsy print, which just didn’t have a place in my sisters adult home.
My sister ended up giving me her whole collection of buttons. I got rid of the banner, and put the buttons in a shoe box. Because the buttons are neat looking and nostalgic, I decided to make a slightly more grown up version of a display:
Ikea RIBBA frame, glass removed
1/2 yard of velvet (you will have some left over)
Hot glue
Cardboard- I lost the back of the RIBBA frame long ago, so this is what I used as the backboard. I think it works better though, because you can sick tack style pins in it.
