I spotted this broken gum ball machine in a junk shop in South Philadelphia several years ago. After I spent the afternoon cleaning spider eggs out of the inter-workings and wiping away the bedbug carcasses, I got to work on the scene building.
I cut a circle of cardboard to build the vignette upon. I had all of the model building stuff already: mostly purchased at Hobbytown, USA. I was excited to find a figure with some height (the kite flyer), which I bought especially for this project. The figure came in a pack which included two children in a go-cart. If you look closely, you can see them riding down the chute.
